Cake Design in Amsterdam - De Taart van Mijn Tante

Avevamo parlato di dolci-scultura a Parigi, ma ora vi mostro qualche perla di Amsterdam. Come mi ero già espressa, normalmente trovo questo tipo di torta "più bella che allettante". Ma c'è da dire che è difficile non restare a bocca aperta di fronte a certe opere d'arte fatte di glassa, zuccheri e marzapane.
De Taart van Mijn Tante (in italiano "La Crostata di Mia Zia") è la pasticceria e sala da tè in Ferdinand Bolstraat - non distante dalla zona dei musei - da cui provengono queste immagini. Rispetto allo stile americano classico, il cake design che abbiamo trovato ad Amsterdam vuole mantenere ancora abbastanza (non sempre) la fattezza della torta e meno quello del giocattolo o dell'oggetto. Questo riesce, pur restando spettacolare, ad apparire più alla "Hansel e Gretel" che alla "Barbie e Ken".

We had talked about sweet-sculpture in Paris, but now I show you some pearls of Amsterdam. As I had already expressed, normally I find this type of cake "more beautiful than attractive". But it must be said that it is hard not to gape in front of certain works of art made of icing sugar and marzipan.

De Taart van Mijn Tante (in English "My Aunt's Tart") is the pastry shop and tea room in Ferdinand Bolstraat - not far from the museum area - from where these images. Compared to the classic American style, the cake design that we found in Amsterdam wants to maintain enough (not always) the insignias of the cake and less the toy or object's shape. This allows, keeping spectacular, to look more in the "Hansel and Gretel" style that in the "Barbie and Ken" 's one.

Quando lo abbiamo incontrato, il negozio era chiuso. Ci siamo ripromesse di tornare, ma poi non ci è più capitata l'occasione. Così, come voi, ho visto solo le vetrine e ammirato le forme delle scenografiche torte a piani, senza poterne testare il sapore.

When we found it, the shop was closed. We promise ourselves to go back, but then there wasn't the opportunity anymore. So, just like you, I saw only the shop window and I admired the spectacular shapes of cakes with several levels, without being able to test the flavor.

Cosa ne pensate? Io credo che non siano niente male! La torta a piani resta comunque il sogno principesco di ogni bambina e non si può dire che queste non siano magnifiche!
Sarei stata curiosa di assaggiarne una... Che dite, testate voi e poi mi fate sapere :) ?

What do you think? I think they are pretty good! The cake with several levels is still the classical dream of every little princess and you cannot say that these aren't magnificent!
